As aforementioned, some cards can be worth thousands of dollars nowadays, while others are just run-of-the-mill
If youre playing against someone who only runs low-to-the-ground creatures, you may never get something even worth 4 mana
It doesn't want to do that though, it just pierces and possibly discards a card (again, your opponent can just say they have no backrow in hand since it doesn't reveal)
This is a good point at which to let the kids write on the cards
They arent a way for Wizards to sneak a secondary banlist into the format, but rather a way for some long-established community norms around what cards dont belong at more casual tables to be more codified
